RJ Olson Log Homes uses only the best vendors in the business to ensure the products your house are built with meet the most rigorous qualifications. A majority of the logs are grown in the Rocky Mountain region in Idaho. Idaho's dry climate ensures that your home will be built with some of the driest house-logs in the industry.
Why are dry logs important? When a log is dry there is a much lower chance of settling, unexpected cracking and twisting. The logs we use come from standing dead timbers which are naturally much drier than kiln-dried or green log homes. This means your home will continue to be as efficient and sturdy as the day it was built.
In addition, our logs are TP Graded. Timber Products Inspection (TP) is the largest wood inspection agency in the nation. TP is the only ALSC approved grading agency that has representatives in all regions of the United States. TP grading rules and design values are based on nationally recognized standards.
